STEMMA education is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons.  Children apply science, technology, engineering, mathematics, music and art in contexts that make connections between school, community, work, and the global enterprise enabling the development of STEMMA literacy and with it the ability to compete in the new economy.

Music and art have been incorporated into the traditional STEM education since children often do not understand the relationship between these disciplines and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It also gives children, who may not be interested in the traditional STEM fields an opportunity to express and utilize their artistic and musical talents.
